My little girl is very fond of rocks. Whenever we go out for a picnic by the river side or any lakes. She sure starts picking up lots and lots of stones that are smooth. She doesn’t end up with any one particular favorite stone but many. Mommy never had the heart to throw them away since she says all that she picked are her favorite. Recently we started painting them with acrylic and gave a finishing coat with modpodge or the Transparent nail polish which was unused. They turned out so beautiful and now we have a small rock garden. ☺️

Wall hanger with cardboard box
So much of boxes at home. How much we could craft with it.
After a long break, I decided to do something for my kids room. Something that they would feel nice and happy to look at while half asleep in their bed. What do you think it could be??
"STARS"..
Things needed
Cardboard
Golden paper ( gift wrapper left over or any glittery sheet that would be perfect for making stars )
Glue
Scissors
String or leftover yarn
I first made a rectangle shape with the cardboard and covered it up with the gift wrapper. Take another bigger cardboard and cover it with the same size gift wrapper using glue and dry it. Once dry you can it to star shapes, big and small.
After its dry, attach the string to the starz using a needle. Now make holes in d rectangular cardboard and attach the stringed stars to it. You can arrange them the way you wish. Fix four strings on to the four corners of the rectangle and tie them up like a wall hanger, so that you can hang it up on the wall.
Im sure it would look more beautiful if you attach a night lamp under it.

Pine cones are the most amazing stuff that could be used in making a door wreath.

Dry pine cones
A ring( you can cut one with a cardboard)
Hot glue
Paint
Bunch of any artificial flower that you have at home
I simply painted the dry pine cones in green, stuck them on a wire ring. A bunch of flowers that I made with nylon made it more colorful. Now it's hanging out on our house door :)

Nylon flower clips
Nylon flowers are very easy to make if you have the interest to learn. There are loads of video o youtube and mostly they are self explanatory if you have the tools with you.
Since I learnt to make the flowers, I started to glue them with a hot glue gun on clips. They look perfect for my kids.
Now I can make matching hair accessories for them.

Wind chime
Inspired by me, my daughter wanted to do some craft and she started to ask me everyday. So I just decided to do something with her help.
We had a lot of flower pots left empty. And I was thinking tat we could do something with it. I searched pinterest and I found that the flower pot could be used to make a wind chime.
My daughter is very much interested with bead work. She had a cup full of colorful beads. So I gave her some strings and asked her to put some beads in it. I used some flowers made out milk jug and the sun catchers which was left at home for a long time. She painted them and was very happy to help me.
I used an empty plastic flower pot which has holes at the bottom. These holes made it easier for me to tie the strings.
Beads, milk jug flowers, sun catchers, strings and some ready made foam stickers were the things I used. If you have any other small decorative stuffs like bells or earings too could be used.
The end result was a colorful wind chime. I was so proud that my daughter took some time to help me. When I hung it up, on the ceiling, I was happy to hear " that looks pretty " from both my lil girls :)
Try them and make your kids happy too :)

Egg carton flower wreath
Flowers are colorful and they are attractive. They always make us feel special. Not just spring needs to remind me of them , when I hear the word beautiful...I only think of flowers. Making flowers with all the possible materials that I find at home has become a hobby for me now.
Egg cartons are the best recyclable material that could be used for flower making. I found lots of videos on youtube and other websites which has loads of ideas about this one particular material. I found an attractive one on pinterest. They looked lovely, and I definitely wanted to try one, since spring is around the corner.
Things used :
Egg carton
Pair of scissors
Glue
Paint
Card board to make a ring.
I cut the egg carton into small hollow pieces, which is easy. Each egg holder could be shaped to a flower. Some flowers had a second little flower stuck inside. After cutting them, I picked some attractive colors and painted them. Once dry I glued each flower into whatever way I wanted them to look like. I colored the cardboard ring in green and stuck all the flowers on it arranging them neatly. I also added few leaves. Just need to cut the left over carton into a leaf shape and stick them around.
And the final result was a beautiful flower wreath for my house door :) Don't they look perfect for spring.

Crepe paper roses
Crepe papers that we use for decorations can also be used for making flowers. Most of us have tried this during school days, but my crepe flowers never looked so beautiful.
Things needed was just Crepe paper n glue to stick the ends. I just took 2 long strips. Placed them one on top of each other. Twisted them starting from a triangular shape. There are lots of videos on youtube. If you dont know how to try them, check the videos and twist the strips with some patience. Once you feel the rose is complete, just stick the end with some glue, so that they don't fall apart.
